The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Rated R)
The Apoca-Lips Cast has been the premiere shadow cast of the Rocky Horror Experience in the Hudson Valley region since the turn of the 21st century. We provide live performances in front of the original 1975 film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The story is a parody of Frankenstein, that begins with an innocent couple entering a castle run by a mad scientist who happens to be a transexual from another planet! Though shunned to the bottom shelf upon its release, the film quickly became a cult classic providing liminal space for queer culture. The shadow cast experience provides a safe and fun space to challenge sexuality through drag culture. Come dressed as you are or dare to have fun and dress in character or in drag! Walk in someone else’s heels and shout out loud and proud, “Don’t Dream It, Be It!”
Reserve a table for dinner and stay for the performance! Cast will be selling some extra goodies at the show in support of shows and events.
The Apoca-Lips Cast maintains an annual show at Dutchess Community College every October. We have been featured performances at The Callicoon Theater, Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center (Sugar Loaf) with Patricia Quinn and Barry Bostwick, Paramount Hudson Valley Theater (Peekskill), The Lafayette Theater (Suffern), The Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park), Tivoli Free Library, The Tilted Kilt (Poughkeepsie), Hudson Valley Comic Con (Poughkeepsie) with Patricia Quinn, Undiscovered Realm Con (Westchester), Westchester Tattoo Convention, and IMAX Norwalk Aquarium (Connecticut).
