Pride Flag Procession Across the Walkway
At dusk, a group of 100+ flag marshals will parade a 15-foot wide, 500-foot long portion of Gilbert Baker’s original 8-color Pride flag from the Dutchess County side of the Walkway over the river to the Ulster County side.
Rainbow Bridge Lighting
The Walkway’s brand new LED lighting system will have the pathway illuminated in a wash of rainbow light for this first-time Pride celebration on the park.
Kickoff to Pride Season in the Hudson Valley
Local LGBTQ+ community groups will be set up interactive booths on both sides of the Walkway to share information about their organizations & Summer Pride activities happening throughout the area.
Illuminated Costumes & Decor
What better way to make the most of a nighttime Pride event than to light it up! In addition to the rainbow lighting on the Walkway, everyone is encouraged to come in their best illuminated look. From bracelets & flashlights to full costumes & puppets, we want to see that night sky glowing with Pride.
Live Entertainment for All Ages
A DJ-driven dance party will be going all night long at the center of the Walkway along with featured hosts from the LGBTQ+ Community as well as illuminated performers & entertainers.
