New York Queer Comedy Festival: Comedy Night!

We’re very excited for this New York Queer Comedy Festival showcase at The Unicorn on Thursday, May 28!
Hozho @HozhoHarris is an Indigenous comedian, writer, and performer whose work blends absurd storytelling, shotgun punchlines, and physical clowning into sharp, culturally relevant comedy. She has written for FX’s Reservation Dogs and Two Pink Doors, with pieces featured in The Onion, Reductress, and ClickHole. Fearlessly original, Hozho, finds the funny in with themes centered on identity, power, and indigenous culture.

Drew Tessier @DrewTessierNYC is a NYC-based stand-up comedian, writer, and the creator of the New York Queer Comedy Festival. He produces and hosts New York’s only weekly LGBTQ showcase at a major comedy club and the podcast Drew Tessier’s (Mostly) Queer Comedy Show. Known for his sharp, story-driven comedy, Drew mixes Southern roots with New York edge—covering everything from coming out to modern dating to the absurdity of gay culture with bite and heart.

Caleb White @CalebJamesWhite is a stand-up comedian, podcast host, and paramedic known for blending sharp storytelling with real-life first responder experiences. He produces comedy shows throughout the Lake George area and hosts the What’s Goin’ On Podcast, where comedy, EMS culture, and chaos collide.

Calvin Cato @CalvinSCato is a New York City–based comedian, writer, and actor who has appeared on Comedy CentralVice, and Oxygen. A former tech professional turned performer, Calvin’s smart, sharply observational comedy draws on his experiences navigating race, sexuality, and corporate culture. He has been featured in numerous festivals across the country and was named one of the comedians to watch by Volter magazine. Calvin is also the co-host of the Queer as Folk rewatch podcast.

Sheria Mattis @Sheriamattiscomedy is a Brooklyn-born comedian, writer, actress, and host. She has written for Reductress, Netflix Is a Joke, and for talents including Leslie Jones and Fran Drescher. Sheria is the host of the monthly comedy show Gay Shame and co-host of the Strapdown podcast. Known for her bold, high-energy style, she brings sharp wit and fearless storytelling to stages across New York and beyond.
