Queer Classics Book Club: “The Color Purple”
Our next selection for the Unicorn Bar’s Queer Classics Book Club is “The Color Purple” by Alice Walker.
Published in 1982, this all-time great of American literature won the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the National Book Award for Fiction. The American Library Association has included Walker’s book on its list of the top 100 banned and challenged books since 1990 – so you know it’s got to be an amazing read. And reading it is an act of resistance. Join us! New folks always welcome.
