
Upstate Reggae: Jimmy Cliff Birthday Celebration with Dis-n-Dat
Dis-N-Dat Band was co-founded by four-time Grammy-nominated drummer Rangotan (formerly of Black Uhuru and Sugar Minot) and six-time steel pan champion Sista Dee (Debra Sarjeant).
Renowned for their unique mix of roots reggae, dancehall, R&B, and calypso Dis-N-Dat’s sound is characterized by the rhythmic foundation laid by Rangotan’s drumming, complemented by Sista Dee’s steel pan melodies and soulful vocals and the rest of the band. Dis-N-Dat are a significant force in the reggae scene and have developing a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim. Their commitment to preserving and evolving the reggae genre ensures that their music remains relevant and impactful.
Over the years, Dis-N-Dat has backed many internationally acclaimed artists, including Pato Banton, Everton Blender, Sister Nancy and many others. They have also served as the official band for Tosh1, the son of reggae legend Peter Tosh. Presented with Upstate Reggae
