“Phantasmagoria,” Spring Art Show
Phantasmagoria
Four artists, who are members of our Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community, are proudly displayed in our Spring show, “Phantasmagoria.” Defined as ‘real or imaginary images like those seen in a dream,’ the dreamscapes of our “Phantasmagoria” artists encompass watercolor, collage, oil and acrylic mediums. Additionally, these artists define themselves as transgender, queer, or two-spirit. Sometimes boldly shocking in their representations, other times simply sweet or ethereal, each artist’s work presents their fundamental struggles with, and/or embracing of the morphing of their own lives and fantasies. To follow them in their own self-discovery can be delightful, expansive and disturbing.
