Calling all PROUD Runners, Walkers, Fitness Enthus

Calling all PROUD Runners, Walkers, Fitness Enthusiasts and anyone that just wants to get out there and move - Big Gay Hudson Valley is hosting its first-ever Pride Fun Run on Saturday Morning, May 17th as part of an entire day of activities around Pride In The Sky!

We’ll begin gathering at 9:15am on May 17th - and at 10am our group will enjoy a Fun Run from the Highland side of the Walkway Over The Hudson to either the middle point and back (1.2 miles) - or if you’re really looking to push yourself - to the Poughkeepsie side and back (2.4 miles).

There’s no official timing being offered for this first-time event - this Pride Fun Run is all about showing your PRIDE and gathering together with our community! That said, prizes will be offered for the best PRIDE looks! 🏳️‍🌈⭐️🦄

Participation in our Pride In The Sky Fun Run is FREE, although we do that you please register in advance at biggayhudsonvalley.com/prideinthesky - just select the Pride Fun Run Ticket from the event tickets when you sign up!

Big Gay Hudson Valley in partnership with the Friends of the Walkway and New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will host the second annual Pride In The Sky community celebration on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park - and everyone is invited to join us for this FREE community event!

Join us on the Walkway to kick off pride season with a full calendar of events that includes a pride fun run, LGBTQ+ birding walk, sails & free tours aboard the Queerwater, a proud pet paw-rade & more!

BGHV and Catskills-based Fruition Chocolate Works,

BGHV and Catskills-based Fruition Chocolate Works, have launched our second Gay Bar!

This new chocolate “Gay Bar” features lavender + citrus dark milk 62% chocolate, wrapped in a bright package illustrated by Kingston-based artist Jason O’Malley - widely as @ruralmodernist . The packaging boasts that Diversity is Delicious, with an Inclusive World Blend of cacao.

This is the second year in a row that we have teamed up to create a special edition of a chocolate bar that celebrates the queer community and its allies.

A portion of the proceeds from each Gay Bar sold will benefit Hudson Valley organizations working to better the lives of Upstate New York’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community.

In 2024, proceeds resulted in donations to both the Dutchess County Pride Center and the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center.

Retail businesses interested in wholesale purchases of the Gay Bar are encouraged to contact Fruition Chocolate Works directly.

Fruition will be featuring the Gay Bar and making them available for sale at Big Gay Hudson Valley’s Pride in the Sky celebration scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025 on the Walkway Over the Hudson.

The Gay Bar is also available for purchase at Fruition’s retail store in Shokan, NY or online at fruitionchocolateworks.com
