It’s New York City in the 1980s, and investment banker Patrick Bateman (a stonily delectable Christian Bale) is living a glamorous social life while harboring dark, violent secrets. You see, he likes to kill people — whether girlfriends, coworkers, or strangers on the street. It’s how he gets by. After all, how else can a promising, mild-mannered capitalist get his rocks off in this workaday world?
Featuring a supporting cast that includes Willem Dafoe, Reese Witherspoon, Samantha Mathis, and Chloë Sevigny, this is a campy, gory, and queer-coded classic that’s sure to get you in the Halloween spirit!
And stick around for a post-screening conversation with American Psycho co-screenwriter Guinevere Turner! A bon vivant as well as a queer filmmaking legend, Ms. Turner’s credits include Go Fish, The Watermelon Woman, and The L Word. She will be interviewed by @ben_rendich, a Kingston-based queer filmmaker, and take questions from the audience.
