Inside Outside/ A Reading Featuring Five Poets from Beacon and Beyond

LIVE WRITING, in collaboration with the HOWLAND CULTURAL CENTER, announces a reading by five poets from the Hudson Valley and beyond.

The November 8th reading presents Andrea Talarico, Andrew Levy, Joanne McFarland, David Groff and Deborah Davidovits. These poets vary in experience and aesthetic orientation; the aim of the event is to surprise and delight.

David Groff is a notable gay poet and culture worker who cofounded the Publishing Triangle, the association of LGBTQ writers and publishing professionals, and edited the anthologies “Who’s Yer Daddy?: Gay Writers Celebrate Their Mentors and Forerunners” and “Persistent Voices: Poetry by Writers Lost to AIDS,” among other literary achievements.

The reading will be followed by a book sale and signing, during which audience members will have time to speak directly with the poets about their work.

The reading will start at 6 pm and end at 8 pm. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased in advance through the link below and at the door. (Please note that no one will be turned away for lack of funds.)

This event, supported with grants from Poets and Writers and the New York Council on the Arts, is curated by Ruth Danon, a celebrated poet and the founder of Live Writing: A Project for the Reading, Writing, and Performance of Poetry.  Live Writing was created in 2018 and is dedicated to promoting the work of new and established poets. The project features group and individual classes, curated readings, supports publication by local writers and helps to promote the arts communities of Beacon and beyond.
