Halloweekend Gag Ball

This is going to be the sexiest spooky season yet! Brought to you by the “The Queer BIPOC Intersection“, this is a kink-friendly, Halloween-themed ballroom! Hosted by Sabrina Kee, support group facilitator at the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center, along with special guest and co-host Venus Cuffs, nightlife entrepreneur and former dominatrix! This LGBTQ+ event is BIPOC-centered, sex positive, and body positive! Sex-related resources will also be made available, including a “Kinky Sex Ed Intermission” in conjunction with Planned Parenthood, as well as info about free HIV testing services at the Center!

EVENT DETAILS

  • When: Saturday October 21st, 8:00 pm – 12:00 am (doors open at 7:30 pm)
  • Where: Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center – 300 Wall St, Kingston, NY.
  • General admission: open to all LGBTQ+ folks!
  • Ballroom Category Registration: Open to LGBTQ+ BIPOC
  • Dress Code: Be it Halloween, horror films, or kink, come wearing a mask or costume!

  • The 21+ After party: SALT BOX BAR – 10 Crown St, Kingston, NY (3 minute walk from the Center!)

CATEGORIES

  1. Spell-Casting Lip Sync – Choose between one of the following songs: 1) Rihanna – “Disturbia” OR 2) “I Put A Spell on You” (Nina Simone’s version)
  2. Face – Sell it, show it, bring it to the floor! In an all Black and Gold look, reveal your face. Make it extravagant darling.
  3. Runway Domination – Dominate the runway with your best authoritative Dom / Dominatrix look!
  4. The Masked Voguer – Choose between a WITCH, CAT, or BAT to dress up as, and embody in your performance! (WITCHES should have a hand performance & duckwalk emphasis, CATS should have a catwalk & floor performance emphasis, and BATS should have a spins and dips emphasis)
  5. Shibari Body – A torso-only Shibari harness will be tied by a professional assisting on site before you walk the runway to show off your physical assets!
  6. Dog Walking Realness – Grab your mate! This one is for two consenting participants as part of on team! Put on the best show for the judges!
  7. Female Figure Sex Siren – Be the sexiest in the room!
  8. Male Figure Catboy (Sex Siren) – Be the sexiest in the room!
  9. Dominatrix Siren (Open to all)– Bring it in a Kinky outfit inspired by Rihanna’s song “S&M” that unleashes your inner freak. With a touch of red, show us why you are the sexiest in the room. To get your 10s, give the panel either a sexy dance or lightly spank a submissive on the floor. Go big or go home. Let’s make it hot.
  10. Bizarre – Sex, Gore & Horror – Am we turned on? Or are we terrified? Make your costume bizarre and walk the runway!
  11. Best Costume Spectator (Open To All) – Who has the best costume in the audience? Show it off!

Categories subject to change depending on total number of participants. Registration for categories ends Friday, October 13th at midnight!

  • PUBLIC TRANSIT: UCAT: Kingston Plaza stop (Yellow & Blue Routes), 0.4 mi (approx. 7 min walk); Main & Fair stop (Red Route), 0.1 mi (approx. 3 min walk); TRAILWAYS: Kingston terminal, 400 Washington Ave, 0.4 miles (approx. 7 min walk).
  • PARKING: Street parking available, free after 6pm, reserved parking available. Municipal lot on 21 North Front Street (approx. 6 min walk), free after 6pm.
  • ENTRYWAY: Ramp available for entry upon request. Event located on the first level with hardwood and tile floors. Accessible, gender-neutral bathrooms available. Wheelchair accessible lift available for second floor access.
  • COVID PROTOCOL: Indoor event. Masks are encouraged, and free face masks will be available at the entrance. Hand sanitizer will be available in all common areas. Common areas will be cleaned and sanitized prior to the event. All event seating is moveable.
  • LIGHT & SOUND: This event will feature loud music. Free earplugs will be made available at the front desk. Neon, blacklight, multi-color, or flashing lights may be used. A separate room will be designated as a quiet break room. Individuals are free to bring their own noise canceling, light filtering or blocking items for the event.
  • FOOD & DRINK: Water and light, non-alcoholic refreshments provided. No outside food or drink.
