“Cindy of Arc”
Bridge Street Theatre presents “Cindy of Arc,” an acclaimed comedy-and-rock-music event written and performed by Cynthia Kaplan, for two performances only: Saturday, May 16 at 7:00pm and Sunday, May 17 at 2:00pm in Catskill.
Part solo comedy, part live concert, and part cultural critique, “Cindy of Arc” takes on lying—particularly by men—and traces its effects through politics, religion, relationships, and modern American culture. Featuring original songs performed with a live band, Kaplan combines sharp observational humor, storytelling, and biting commentary in a fast-moving theatrical event that is both hilarious and pointed.
The production has received strong critical response across multiple runs, with critics calling it “brilliant and blistering” (NWTheatre), “a laugh-out-loud event” (Maryland Theatre Guide), and praising Kaplan’s “searing wit” (DelcoCultureVultures). “Cindy of Arc” was also a finalist for the 2023 Richard Rodgers Award for Musical Theater.
Kaplan is joined by musicians Dan Barman and Zachary Larson and directed by Emmy Award-winning writer and Tony-nominated producer Dani Davis. The production has previously appeared at venues including Seattle’s Intiman Theatre, Baltimore Theatre Project, Dixon Place, and the Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
