One Epic Celebration, Two Community Festivals

Kick off PRIDE season in the Hudson Valley and plan out your calendar by meeting the local organizations producing events throughout the month of June and others in our queer Upstate community.

Community festivals will be on both sides of the Walkway Over the Hudson from 4p – 8p so be sure to arrive early and give yourself time to experience both.

Vendors including Fruition Chocolate Works and others will be set up on both sides of the Walkway selling food & non-alcoholic beverages. Food and non-alcoholic beverages can be taken onto the Walkway Over the Hudson.

Bad Seed Hard Cider and City Winery Hudson Valley will have a beverage garden set up on each side of the Walkway, where alcohol may be purchased and consumed. Please note that alcohol is not permitted on the Walkway and cannot be taken outside of the demarcated beverage garden.

Pride Flag Procession Across the Walkway

At 6p, two groups of flag marshals will step off from each side of the Walkway and parade two of the world’s largest Pride flags to the center of the Walkway.

A 16-foot wide, 500-foot long portion of Gilbert Baker’s original 8-color Pride flag will step off from the Dutchess County (east) side of the Walkway and a 16-foot wide, 125-foot long community-supported & newly created trans pride flag will step off from the Ulster County (west) side of the Walkway.

Pride Flag Procession Across the Walkway

Just before sunset, two groups of flag marshals will step off from each side of the Walkway and parade two of the world’s largest Pride flags to the center of the Walkway.

Live Entertainment for All Ages

New Paltz-based live band The Minorikeys will be performing on the Highland side of the Walkway in the early evening. Be sure to snap a photo and serve a look with Andramada & her House of Drama as they strut their stuff on the Poughkeepsie side of the Walk(run)way.

Light Up the Night in Rainbow

Rainbow Bridge Lighting

The Walkway’s LED lighting system will have portions of the pathway illuminated in a wash of color as the adjacent Mid-Hudson Bridge shimmers in rainbow.

Illuminated Costumes & Decor

What better way to make the most of a nighttime Pride event than to light it up! In addition to the rainbow lighting on the Walkway + Mid-Hudson Bridge, everyone is encouraged to come in their best illuminated look. From bracelets & flashlights to full costumes & puppets, we want to see that night sky glowing with Pride.

Dance the Night Away

There’s nothing quite like dancing 212 feet in the sky under the stars. Come twirl with DJ Prephab as they spin up a disco dance party all night long at the center of the bridge.
