As we all know, farming and agriculture is a huge part of the fabric of life for us here in the Hudson Valley. To give visitors a chance to experience life on a working dairy farm, BGHV created our first-ever Baby Goat Weekend at Sprout Creek Farm on March 10th + 11th. This Upstate Gay Adventure was completely sold out, offering our incredible group of 40 guests an intimate and immersive experience working side by side with the team at Sprout Creek Farm’s Education Center.
With a focus on animal husbandry and sustainability, guests were dropped right into the middle of life on a working dairy farm in order to learn more about how this particular organization creates products that so many of us across the region enjoy. The weekend included opportunities to understand how cheese is produced and aged as well as cooking lessons as taught by Sprout Creek Farm’s very own chef, Mark Fredette.
Other activities included baby goat yoga, a wine & cheese tasting with Millbrook Winery, a live concert by John Francisco of Mister John’s Music, and a rousing Sunday brunch featuring Match Game hosted by Trixie Starr.
Events like this one, and many others that BGHV has produced over the years, seek to educate people of the world around them. We’re excited that we’re able to offer new experiences to connect and engage people with the unique resources of the Hudson Valley.
