The Hudson River Sloop Clearwater will be docked in Poughkeepsie’s Waryas Park during the day on May 17, 2025. With a Pride flag flying from its mast, the ship’s Queerwater persona will be shining proudly, ready to welcome our community aboard! Hudson River Sloop Clearwater is a member-supported non-profit with a mission to protect the Hudson River by inspiring lifelong stewardship of the river and its tributaries through education, advocacy, sailing, and music. The organization owns and operates a historic 106′ Hudson River Sloop replica, recognized as America’s Environmental Flagship, hosting a variety of educational and public programming in communities along the river from Brooklyn to Rensslaer.
Tours of the Docked Ship

When the ship is docked in Poughkeepsie’s Waryas Park, visitors are welcome to come aboard and take a tour. Look for the Pride flag flying from the ship’s mast or follow these directions to the dock.

Drag Story Hour with Katarina Mirage
Grab a seat and take off on a fierce & fabulous adventure as Katarina Mirage hosts Drag Story Time on board the Clearwater.
Look for the ship docked in Poughkeepsie’s Waryas Park. Story time is appropriate for all ages but pets are not allowed on board the Clearwater. Arrive early to get a good seat!

Public Sails

Celebrate Pride with a sail aboard the Clearwater at 10:30am or 5pm! Take a sail to relax, enjoy the river, and learn about Clearwater’s Queerwater Youth Empowerment Program from our welcoming crew.
The 10:30am sail will feature music by Colton Thorn.
Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks on board, including wine and beer (no refreshments are offered on board). Consumption of alcohol is at the discretion of the captain.
Pets are not allowed on board • Ages 8+ generally recommended, although there is no age minimum
