Help Us To Create The World’s Largest Trans Prid Help Us To Create The World’s Largest Trans Pride Flag! 🏳️‍⚧️ Hello Friends - My name is Stephan Hengst and my husband, Patrick Decker, and I are the founders of Big Gay Hudson Valley. We know that a community’s success is the sum of its parts, and Big Gay Hudson Valley creates experiences & promotes resources that empower people to make new connections, explore the Hudson Valley & live as their authentic LGBTQ+ selves. Big Gay Hudson Valley is raising funds to help underwrite the creation of one of what will be the world’s largest Trans Pride flag. We’re creating this flag as a show of resistance to the Federal Government’s attempts to erase the Transgender community from our LGBTQIA+ history. The Trans Pride flag that we are creating will be 16 feet wide and 125 ft. long, and will raise the visibility of the Transgender community as part of Pride In The Sky, an annual recurring event that we host in partnership with the Walkway Over The Hudson in the Hudson Valley of New York. The flag will be the spotlight of the 2025 Pride In The Sky Celebration on the Walkway Over The Hudson. Attended by more than 3500 members of the Hudson Valley queer community and our allies in 2024, this year’s Pride In The Sky Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025 and we’re only expecting the number of attendees to grow for its second year. The funds raised by this effort will go towards purchasing the materials, and funding the construction of this flag. After Pride In The Sky, Big Gay Hudson Valley will make this flag available to Pride events and celebrations across the United States so that it can continue to showcase and ensure visibility for the transgender community.
