Cinema in Piazza
Magazzino Italian Art in collaboration with Artecinema and The Cold Spring Film Society presents Cinema in Piazza, a series of twelve films about Italian and Post-war artists. Beginning on Friday, July 13, at 8:00 p.m. in the courtyard at Magazzino Italian Art in Cold Spring, New York, screenings will include one film about an Italian artist paired with one film about an international artist. Each pairing is intended to shed light about common grounds and/or opposite trends in dealing with similar subjects by Italian artists and their peers abroad. Each film, ranging in length between 13 to 72 minutes long, showcases an individual artist who was part of the artistic avant-garde during the second half of the 20th century. Coming from different generations and backgrounds, these Italian, European and American artists created a fluid and borderless form of art, free of labels and one that transcended national identities.
