Gay Glitter Guild’s Crafting Night
Calling all crafty queers for the Gay Glitter Guild – where everything is “homo-made!” Join Orange County Queer Collective and Wickham Works in Warwick for a drop-in crafting event on Wednesday April 29th.
Bring something you’re working on (knitting, scrapbooking, embroidery, watercolor, jewelry making, anything!), or find something to work on.
In addition to whatever crafts you choose to bring, this month’s OCQC activity involves Trans pride and egg hatching! Fun fact: within trans and gender nonconforming circles online, an “egg” refers to a trans person who has yet to realize their own identity. That said, with the help of some post-Easter decor, we will be engaging in some egg-related creative activities:
- GROUP ACTIVITY: “TRANS AFFIRMATIONS” EASTER EGG HUNT
- ZINE MAKING: “EGG HATCHING”: A HOW-TO FOR TRANS EMBRYOS
- WRITING & REFLECTIONS: A LOVE LETTER TO MY FORMER SELF
Other things to know:
- finger foods and drinks provided
- 18+ (under 18 welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian)
- RSVP is appreciated (to plan for food & supplies)
Bring yourself and bring your friends – we can’t wait to spend the evening together getting crafty!
