Bisexual folk-pop artist Rachael Sage brings her colorful, cabaret-tinged songwriting to the Hudson Valley for a queer-friendly folk-pop show at the Towne Crier on Friday, April 24th! A Five-time OutMusic Award-winner and Billboard-charting recording artist who has shared stages with Rufus Wainwright, Sandra Bernhard and Ani DiFranco, Sage and her band The Sequins will perform songs from their forthcoming acoustic album, Under My Canopy, alongside selections from her 20+ albums and EPs. Bridging the earthy, retro-sensibilities of ’70s-era folk-rock with the ability to connect meaningfully with audiences of all ilks, Rachael Sage & The Sequins always bring positive vibes and the musical reminder that we’re all on this planet to lift each other up. A Poughkeepsie Pride performer fave, expect a vibrant show, including a variety of sparkly costume changes from the flamboyantly folky Sage! The show is a co-bill with 1st place New England Songwriter Competition-winner Vanna Pacella. Showtime is 6:00 pm and admission is free with a dinner reservation.
With the brand new Top 40-Charting album Canopy out now, Under My Canopy, due this summer, and this year marking the 30th Anniversary of Sage’s pioneering indie label MPress Records, the show promises to be unforgettable.
