Art Is How I Fight – Gallery Showcase for Hector Rodriguez
Thrift 2 Fight, a movement that mobilizes secondhand fashion to fund and amplify the work of grassroots social justice initiatives, presents an art show entitled “Art Is How I Fight,” featuring the works of artist Hector “Bori” Rodriguez. Hector has been incarcerated for 26 years and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in social studies. His extraordinary works weave together natural elements and commentary on current political issues.
The showcase will feature a decade of Hector’s work, with mediums spanning from acrylic to pastel to sculpture. Thrift 2 Fight is honored to showcase Hector’s work in what will be his first
public exhibition.
Attendees of the opening will have the opportunity to meet the friends and family of the artist,
write notes to Hector, and contribute to his GoFundMe. Light refreshments will be served.
