This month, we’ll be bringing back a cold weather favorite from last winter: the Melzingah Reservoir Loop! We’ll start on the Blue Notch trail off of 9D in Cold Spring, walk through glorious snowy forest over several brooks, then pop into the Yellow trail before looping down past the Melzingah Reservoir. Pretty gentle but beautiful trail, and very dog friendly.

Directions: Set your GPS to 180-196 Breakneck Rd, Beacon, NY 12508. You’ll see room for 3-4 cars in front of a post with blue trail markers, as well as another small pull off across the street.

Distance: 3 miles, 1.5 hours?
