DESCRIPTION:FARM TOURS & FIBER ARTS ACROSS SEVEN FARMS IN DUTCHESS COUNTY\nDutchess County Sheep and Wool Growers Tours to be held Saturday, May 9\nDutchess County, NY — The Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Growers Association invites the\ncommunity to experience the Hudson Valley region’s rich agricultural heritage during its annual\nspring Sheep & Wool Growers Farm Tours on Saturday, May 9, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.\nThis self-guided tour at seven farms across Dutchess County, offers visitors a unique\nopportunity to explore local farms, meet farmers, and learn about raising sheep and fiber\nproduction.\nEach participating farm will showcase a variety of activities and demonstrations, including:\n● Fiber arts such as spinning, weaving, and felting\n● Guided and self-guided barn tours and opportunities to meet sheep and other livestock\n● Educational displays and demos on wool processing and sustainable farming practices\nVisitors will also have the chance to purchase a wide range of farm-produced goods, including\nyarn, wool products, handmade crafts, and other locally produced items. As part of the event,\nvisitors who sign in will be entered into a special raffle featuring a prize basket filled with\nfarm-produced items from each of the participating farms—offering a unique collection of local\nproducts.\nThe Sheep & Wool Growers Farm Tours provide a fun and educational outing for all ages,\nconnecting the community with local agriculture and supporting small farms throughout\nDutchess county.\nAdditional event details, including participating farm locations, are listed below and can be\nfound on individual farm websites.\nAnchorage Farm – 8 Mynderse St, Saugerties NY – At Anchorage Farm you can meet registered\nRomney Sheep, pet lambs, feel – and purchase if you like – yarn and raw wool. Pleasant Land Farm will have a booth at Clover Brooke Farm\n-selling-Farm Fresh- NYS Produced/Grown-Jellies, Hot Sauces, Honey & Syrups.
