DESCRIPTION:Polymathic artist and printmaker, Edgar Hartley, joyfully invites you to his Thesis Exhibition, “Succession:  Objects That Hold Queer Culture”.  The Exhibition, which will run from May 16th through May 26th, opens at the Dorsky Museum of Art at 4pm as the culmination of his master’s in fine arts studies in printmaking, and will showcase a wide variety of prints and techniques, as well as objects, books, and sculptures exploring queer ancestries, their influences on today’s queer community, and the role of objects in the transmission of queer culture.\nGuests are cordially invited to the opening reception, Friday, May 16th from 4pm to 6pm at the Dorsky Museum, Chandler and North Galleries, SUNY New Paltz.\nThe artist uses innovative techniques within relief printing, monotype, photogravure, lithography, silkscreen, intaglio, enameling, and metalwork to create vibrant, thought-provoking prints and objects of community. This exhibition explores the ancestral legacies of queer people and the prints, books, and objects that can transmit present queer culture to future generations.\n\n
