DESCRIPTION:If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to read more great queer books and/or develop deeper, better connections with interesting queer men, the new Q-MoB Queer Men’s Book Club may be the perfect place to make new friends and have fun getting much wiser about the queer experience and ways of looking at the world. When we read and digest great books together we take the time to get to know ourselves, our book club companions, and the issues and perspectives the book brings up in a much deeper and more collaborative way. Reading can be such a solitary experience, but when we do it together and explore our reactions and insights, reading becomes a collective experience that builds lasting bonds. Please join us at this book club organizational meeting where we will choose a book or books we want to read together and a format we will use to come together to discuss those books. Please do your homework before our meeting and research 2-3 books you would like the group to consider reading, and be prepared to let us know why you would like to read those books and why you think our discussion of them will likely be interesting and illuminating. You don’t have to have read the book(s) you recommend, but please come knowing why you want us to read them and with some examples of why you think the book(s) are well written and worthy of group discussion.\n
